I just came back from Istanbul. There’s lots to share and talk about, regarding my experience and of course the amazing Calligraphy I saw.
It’s a beautiful city with a rich history and amazing structures. Sultanahmet, aka the Blue Mosque, is wondrous and majestic. I managed to pray the Friday prayers which had the Mosque packed out with worshippers. Right opposite this is Hagia Sofia, which is another beautiful and preserved structure.
There is Calligraphy dotted all around these places and I also found several Calligraphy shops which were selling the most incredible and detailed works. I came back with renewed inspiration and passion for this art form. This is the second time I’ve been to Turkey; the first time being in 2015 when I visited Konya with family.
